Terms and conditions
These terms apply to your use of InchToCM (inchtocm.co.uk). By using the site, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Who we are
In these terms, "InchToCM", "we", "us" and "our" mean the operator of inchtocm.co.uk. "You" means anyone who visits or uses the site. You can contact us at hello@inchtocm.co.uk.
Using the site
InchToCM is free to use for personal and business reference. You can use the converters and read the content without creating an account.
When you use the site, you agree not to:
- try to hack, disrupt or damage the site or its server
- scrape pages at a rate that slows the site down for other visitors
- Use bots or automated systems to overload the server
- Copy our pages and publish them as your own
- Use the site for anything unlawful
We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
Accuracy of results
We test every tool before we publish it. Even so, all results are for general reference only. A figure can be off for several reasons:
- Rounding: 5.5 inches is exactly 13.97 cm, but a tool set to one decimal place shows 14.0 cm.
- Browser arithmetic: JavaScript stores numbers in floating-point format, which can cause tiny errors in the last few decimal places.
- Typing mistakes: entering 55 instead of 5.5 gives a result ten times too large.
If a conversion matters for safety, engineering, construction, legal, medical or financial reasons, check it against an authoritative source or ask a qualified professional before you act on it. For reference, 1 inch equals exactly 2.54 centimetres under the international definition.
No warranty
We provide the site and everything on it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that:
- The site will always be available or free of interruption
- The site will be free of errors, bugs or viruses
- Any result will suit your particular purpose
We may change, suspend or remove any tool or page at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using this site or relying on a result from one of its tools. This includes lost profits, wasted materials, lost data, and costs caused by a measurement you did not check.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, liability for fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, InchToCM owns the text, layout, code, graphics and branding on this site.
You may:
- Quote a short passage, as long as you link back to the original page
- link to any page on the site
- Print or save a page for your own personal use
You may not republish whole pages, tools, conversion tables or code without our written permission.
Unit definitions and conversion factors are facts. Nobody owns them, and you are free to use them.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to external websites for reference. We don't control those sites, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the site.
Advertising
Advertising pays for this site. Ads appear in clearly marked areas. If you deal with an advertiser, that deal is between you and the advertiser. We are not responsible for the products, services or claims in third-party ads.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, including cookies and advertising. It forms part of these terms.
Severability
If a court finds any part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply.
Governing law
The laws of England and Wales govern these terms. The courts of England and Wales will hear any dispute that arises from them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your own country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The version on this page is always the current one, and the date at the top shows when we last changed it. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the revised terms.
